Made using Hawaiian rolls, these delightful treats are filled with a smooth vanilla cream and coated in fragrant cinnamon sugar. Ingredients

🥫 1 can of evaporated milk
🥫 1 can of condensed milk
🥄 1 tbsp of Mexican vanilla
🥄 1/4 cup of cornstarch
💧 1/4 cup of cold water
🍞 1 pack of 12 Hawaiian rolls
🍬 1/2 cup of sugar
🌿 2 tbsp of freshly ground Mexican cinnamon

Instructions

1- Prepare the Vanilla Cream Filling:

In a medium-sized pot, combine the evaporated milk, condensed milk, and Mexican vanilla. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until the condensed milk dissolves completely.
In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with cold water until smooth and lump-free.
Once the milk mixture is hot, gradually whisk in the cornstarch mixture, continuing to stir until the filling thickens. Remove from heat and allow it to cool.
Transfer the vanilla cream to a pastry bag fitted with a filling tip and set aside.

2- Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar:

Grind the Mexican cinnamon using a molino or coffee grinder.
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground cinnamon with sugar and set aside.

3- Fry the Hawaiian Rolls:

Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
Fry each Hawaiian roll until they turn golden brown. Remove from oil and allow them to cool slightly.

4- Coat and Fill the Rolls:

Roll each fried Hawaiian roll in the cinnamon sugar until evenly coated.
Use a chopstick or a skewer to poke a hole in the side of each roll, gently creating space inside for the filling.
Pipe the vanilla cream filling into each donut through the hole.

Cooking Tips:

Ensure the oil is at the right temperature before frying to achieve an even golden color.
Wait until the filling has cooled adequately before transferring it to the pastry bag to prevent melting the bag.
