🥩 200g pork shoulder Hormel Black Label
🥖 1 large crusty bread roll King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
🥔 2 medium potatoes, boiled
🧅 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
🍅 1 ripe tomato, thinly sliced
🌿 1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves
🌶️ 1 tablespoon llajwa sauce (Bolivian hot sauce)
🧄 2 cloves garlic, minced Spice World
🧂 Salt Morton
🫙 2 tablespoons vegetable oil Wesson
🥬 Leaf of lettuce Fresh Express
🍋 Juice from 1 lime ReaLemon
Instructions
1- Prepare the Pork:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of Wesson vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté until golden.
- Season the pork shoulder with salt and place in the pan. Cook until browned on all sides and the internal temperature reaches 145°F, about 15–20 minutes. Set aside to rest.
2- Prepare the Bread:
- Slice the King’s Hawaiian Sweet Roll open without separating the halves completely.
- Optionally, toast the inside of the bread in the oven at 350°F until slightly crispy.
3- Assemble the Sandwich:
- Layer the bottom half of the roll with boiled potato slices.
- Slice the rested pork thinly and layer it over the potatoes.
- Add slices of tomato, onion, and fresh cilantro leaves on top of the pork.
- Drizzle with lime juice and llajwa sauce for that authentic Bolivian kick.
- Finish with a fresh leaf of lettuce and crown with the top half of the roll.
4- Serve:
- Serve fresh and enjoy your Chola Sandwich with a cold drink of your choice.
