Ingredients:
- 2 ounces frozen strawberries
- 1 ounce light rum
- 1 ounce coconut rum
- 1 ripe banana
- 2 ounces cream of coconut
- 2 ounces pineapple juice
- Ice cubes
- Pineapple slice (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Begin by adding the frozen strawberries, light rum, and coconut rum into your blender. Blend these ingredients until you achieve a smooth puree. This will form the strawberry layer of your Tropical Lava Flow.
2. Once blended, pour the strawberry mixture into the bottom of a tall glass, such as a hurricane glass, Collins glass, or a mason jar for a fun twist. If desired, you can swirl the mixture up the sides of the glass for a more dramatic presentation.
3. Next, rinse out your blender to prepare for the next layers.
4. For the creamy tropical layer, add the ripe banana and cream of coconut to the blender. Remember to give your cream of coconut a good shake before measuring it out. Add these to the blender alongside your pineapple juice.
5. Add a generous helping of ice to the mixture in your blender. Secure the lid and blend until smooth. If your blender is large, you may need to shake the mixture and blend again to ensure a consistent texture.
6. Gently pour the banana, coconut, and pineapple blend over the strawberry layer in your glass. To keep the layers distinct, pour slowly and steadily.
7. Garnish your Tropical Lava Flow with a slice of pineapple on the rim.
8. Serve immediately and enjoy the luxurious taste of these tropical flavors.
