Ingredients
π¬ 2 cups White Granulated Sugar
π₯ 1.5 cups Raw Peanuts, Ginguba
π§ Approximately 1/4 to 1/2 cup Water
π« A small amount Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Aldi
Instructions
1- Roast the Peanuts:
- Place the raw peanuts in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Microwave in a Samsung microwave on high for 4-5 minutes, pausing every 1-2 minutes to stir with a wooden spoon.
- Ensure they roast evenly and donβt burn. Once ready, the skins should easily peel off. Allow the peanuts to cool, then peel them.
2- Prepare the Countertop:
- Clean and dry a section of your countertop.
- Generously grease it with Extra Virgin Olive Oil to prevent sticking.
3- Caramelize the Sugar:
- In a saucepan, mix 2 cups of sugar with water.
- Place the saucepan on the electric stove and continuously stir with a wooden spoon until the sugar dissolves, boils, and turns into a light golden-brown caramel.
4- Combine Peanuts and Caramel:
- Immediately add the peeled, roasted peanuts to the caramel in the saucepan.
- Stir thoroughly to ensure the peanuts are well-coated.
5- Form and Set the Candies:
- Quickly spoon the hot peanut mixture onto the greased countertop in small portions.
- Allow to cool completely until they harden.
6- Serve:
- Use a metal spatula to lift the candies off the countertop and arrange them on a white square serving plate.
