š¾ 1000 g Zelfrijzend Bakmeel / Self-raising baking flour
š 1 cup sugar
š§ 1 tablespoon Sal Fino Sal B salt
š« 5 packets Dr. Oetker Vanille Zucker vanilla sugar
š„ 1 packet Dr. Oetker Backin cake baking powder
š§ 1 packet Dr. Oetker Trocken Hefe dry yeast
š§ 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water
š¢ļø Frying oil, sufficient for deep frying
Instructions
1- Prepare the Dough:
- In a large blue plastic mixing bowl, combine 1000g of self-raising baking flour.
- Add the dry yeast, salt, cake baking powder, and vanilla sugar packets, along with 1 cup of sugar.
- Mix the dry ingredients thoroughly to ensure even distribution.
2- Knead the Dough:
- Gradually pour 1 1/2 cups of lukewarm water into the dry mixture while kneading by hand until a sticky dough forms.
- Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap, allowing the dough to rise for about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
3- Fry the Bolinhos:
- Heat a generous amount of frying oil in a black non-stick saucepan on an electric induction hob (Siemens brand).
- Once the oil is hot, use wet hands to form small balls from the dough to prevent sticking.
- Carefully drop the dough balls into the hot oil in batches, frying them until they are uniformly golden brown.
- Turn the bolinhos as needed using a black plastic slotted spoon.
4- Drain and Serve:
- Remove the fried bolinhos from the oil using the slotted spoon and place them on a white plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
