Ingredients
🥥 200 grams shredded coconut Coco Rallado
🥛 200 grams condensed milk LA LECHERA
🥚 1 whole egg Grade A Large
Instructions
1- Prepare the Coconut Mixture:
- In a large stainless steel mixing bowl, combine 200 grams of shredded coconut with 200 grams of condensed milk LA LECHERA.
- Use a light blue silicone spatula to thoroughly mix the coconut and condensed milk until well combined.
2- Add the Egg:
- Crack 1 whole egg into the mixture.
- Continue mixing until all ingredients are fully incorporated and the mixture is uniform.
3- Rest Your Mixture:
- Let the mixture rest for a few minutes to allow the coconut to absorb moisture.
4- Preheat Your Oven:
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350°F) while your mixture rests.
5- Form the Cocadas:
- Line a black baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Using a metal spoon, scoop portions of the coconut mixture onto the lined baking sheet, forming small mounds.
- Alternatively, shape them with clean, dampened hands to create peaks at the top for the traditional look.
6- Bake to Perfection:
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until cocadas turn a golden brown.
7- Cool and Serve:
- Once baked, remove from the oven and allow them to cool completely on the sheet before serving.
8- Enjoy Your Treat:
- Serve the cocadas once they have cooled. They can be enjoyed as is or presented in decorative paper cones for a traditional Alasitas fair experience.
