Instructions
1- Prepare Spiced Water:
- In a large pot, bring 1.5 - 2 liters of water to a boil. Add the cinnamon sticks and cloves.
- Simmer to infuse the flavors.
2- Roast Peanuts:
- In a separate frying pan or skillet, toast the peanuts over medium heat.
- Stir constantly with a wooden spoon until they are golden brown and the skins crack.
- Be careful not to burn them.
3- Cool and Peel Peanuts:
- After roasting, allow the peanuts to cool completely.
- Rub the peanuts between your hands to remove the skins, which should easily peel off.
- Discard the skins.
4- Blend Peanuts:
- Place the peeled peanuts into the Osterizer Cycle Blend 10 blender.
- Add enough cooled spiced water to cover the peanuts.
- Blend until smooth and creamy.
5- Cook Peanut Paste:
- Pour the blended peanut paste into a frying pan.
- Rinse the blender with some water to ensure all of the mixture is used.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring continuously, until the paste thickens and natural oils separate.
6- Combine and Sweeten:
- Mix the cooked peanut paste with the remaining spiced water in the large pot.
- Stir until well combined and bring to a boil.
- Add sugar to taste, stirring until fully dissolved.
7- Cool and Serve:
- Allow the drink to cool completely.
- Serve it chilled in a glass pitcher, garnishing with grated coconut and, if desired, adding ice for an extra refresh.
