🧅 2 White Onions, sliced
🫘 1 cup Cooked Beans, Frijol Cocido
🌭 8 Sausages or Hot Dogs
🥖 8 Hot Dog Buns, homemade or store-bought
🍅 4 Roma Tomatoes, finely diced
🥫 Mayonnaise, Hellmann's
🥤 Mustard
🌶️ 1 can 340 gr. Pickled Jalapeño Peppers
🥓 8 slices Bacon
🌶️ 5 Caribe Peppers
🫒 Olive Oil
🥔 5 Potatoes
🧂 Salt
Instructions
1- Prepare Ingredients:
- Slice the white onions into rings.
- Dice the Roma tomatoes.
- Ensure the beans are cooked and warm.
- Peel and cut the potatoes into fry shapes and soak them in water.
2- Wrap Sausages:
- Tightly wrap each sausage with a slice of bacon to prevent unraveling.
3- Cook Sausages:
- Heat the frying pan over medium heat.
- Cook the bacon-wrapped sausages, turning every 2 minutes until golden and crisp. Remove from the pan.
4- Cook Onions and Caribe Peppers:
- In the same pan, add olive oil if necessary and cook the onions until caramelized. Remove and set aside.
- Cook whole Caribe peppers until softened and blistered. Remove and set aside.
5- Prepare Jalapeño Sauce:
- Blend the entire can of pickled jalapeños until smooth.
- Transfer sauce into a squeeze bottle.
6- Cook French Fries (Optional):
- Heat oil in a deep fryer.
- Fry potato strips until golden brown. Drain and season with salt.
7- Steam Hot Dog Buns:
- Place buns in a steamer basket and steam for 5 minutes for softness.
8- Assemble the Hot Dogs:
- Slice each bun open and spread mayonnaise inside.
- Add a bacon-wrapped sausage.
- Spoon cooked beans over the sausage.
- Add diced tomatoes and caramelized onions.
