Ingredients
šŖ 1 large family pack Britannia Marie Gold Biscuits
š§ 3-4 tablespoons Ghee, divided
š¾ Approximately 1 cup Suji (Semolina)
š„ Approximately 1 cup Milk
š 1/2 to 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
šæ A small packet Premia Green Cardamom Pods, ground
š„ A small handful Cashews (Kaju)
š° A small handful Almonds (Badam)
š A small handful Raisins (Kismis)
Instructions
1- Prepare the Ingredients:
- Unpack the Britannia Marie Gold biscuits using a knife.
- Break the biscuits into smaller pieces and transfer them into a food processor or blender jar. Grind into a fine powder.
2- Roast the Biscuits:
- Heat 1-2 tablespoons of ghee in the pan.
- Add the powdered biscuits to the hot ghee and roast, stirring continuously, until light golden brown. Remove from the pan.
3- Roast the Suji:
- In the same or a clean pan, heat another 1-2 tablespoons of ghee.
- Add the suji and roast, stirring constantly, until it turns light golden brown and aromatic.
4- Combine Ingredients:
- Add the roasted biscuit powder back into the pan with the roasted suji. Mix thoroughly.
- Gradually pour in the milk, stirring vigorously to prevent lumps as the mixture thickens.
5- Sweeten the Halwa:
- Add the granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves, and the halwa becomes smooth and glossy.
6- Flavor the Halwa:
- Grind the cardamom pods into a fine powder and add to the halwa. Stir to evenly distribute the flavor.
7- Roast the Nuts and Raisins:
- In a pan, heat a small amount of ghee. Add cashews and almonds, roasting until golden.
- Add raisins; continue roasting until they plump up.
8- Finish the Halwa:
- Using a slotted spoon, transfer roasted nuts and raisins to the halwa.
- Mix until they are evenly incorporated into the halwa.
9- Serve:
- Transfer the Biscuit & Suji Ka Halwa onto a white serving plate.
- Optionally, garnish with additional nuts and raisins for presentation.
