Authentic Jamaican Fish Tea Soup

Ingredients
🐟 1.5 - 2 lbs boneless King fish fillets
🥔 2 medium-sized, peeled and chopped potatoes
🎃 1/2 of a small pumpkin, peeled and chopped
🌱 1-2 medium chocho chayote, sliced
🥕 2 medium carrots, peeled and sliced
🌿 10-15 okra, trimmed and sliced
🌿 2-3 sprigs fresh thyme
🌶️ 1 whole Scotch Bonnet Pepper
🌿 1/4 cup scallion, chopped
🧅 1/4 cup onion, chopped
🌶️ 1/8 cup red bell pepper, chopped
🌶️ 1/8 cup green bell pepper, chopped
🥣 1 packet Grace Fish Tea Fish Flavored Soup Mix
🌰 1 teaspoon Grace Dodd's Allspice
🧂 1/2 teaspoon Great Value Iodized Salt
🍜 Small, finger-shaped homemade dumplings
Instructions
1- Boil Water:
- Fill the large heavy-duty aluminum pot with water.
- Bring it to a rolling boil on the Frigidaire electric stove.
2- Add Vegetables:
- Add chopped pumpkin, chocho, thyme sprigs, carrots, scallion, onion, bell peppers, pimento seeds, and salt.
- Stir gently.
3- Cook Vegetables:
- Let ingredients cook for 15-20 minutes until vegetables are halfway done.
4- Add Soup Mix:
- Add the Grace Fish Tea Fish Flavored Soup Mix into the pot.
- Stir to dissolve.
5- Add Remaining Ingredients:
- Introduce potatoes, okra, and whole Scotch bonnet pepper into the mixture.
6- Add Fish and Dumplings:
- Carefully place boneless fish fillets into the pot.
- Followed by finger-shaped dumplings.
7- Stir Soup:
- Gently stir the soup, preserving the integrity of the fish and vegetables.
8- Final Cooking:
- Allow the soup to cook for another 20 minutes.
9- Season:
- Taste the broth and adjust seasoning with salt if necessary.
10- Serve:
- Serve the soup piping hot.
